New F1 Kits

This was a quiet year for new F1 releases in plastic. The only two I'm aware of are both from Revell-Germany, and they're the latest in their F1 series that includes the Williams-Renault FW19 and Jordan-Peugeot 197.

This kit depicts the same F310B already available from Tamiya, but with less detail. The nice thing is that we now have four cars from the 1997 season to display together in the same scale. I do wonder whether the licensing situation with Ferrari will allow Revell to keep making these kits.

The first plastic McLaren F1 kit since the Senna and Marlboro days, an MP4/12 is a welcome addition to the field. Since McLaren is now the dominant team in F1, hopefully we'll see this year's all-conquering MP4/13 soon.

If you've built any of these Revell-Germany F1 kits, please tell us what you think of them, and share your photos and any reference sources you've found.
