1/20 McLaren M8D

I built this McLaren M8D from a 1/20th scale MPC kit tooled in 1971. I opened all the scoops and louvers, and added modifications to represent the car as it apppeared when Dan Gurney drove it at St. Jovite in 1970.
The body was painted with Ditzler PPG Renault Chipper Orange. Alclad II was used for the monocoque. The other paints were Tamiya spray and bottled acrylics.
This was an extremely troublsome kit as the mold halves appeared to be out of index on every sprue - there was not one single part that did not need extensive clean-up and fitting.
