These photos are the culmination of a three year project. I wanted to build the Ferrari 312T series in 1/12th scale. Tamiya & Protar were the suppliers of these kits. Most of the cars used the Museum Collection Detail kits which included turned wheels, PE, and their Hi Tech decals.

The decals ended up looking like they are painted on. The hardest kit to find was the Protar T5. I was not going to pay the very high EBay prices for this kit. Last year a GPMA member advertised several kits for sale to builders only. I was able to buy the T5 kit for a fraction of the EBay price. I was most grateful to this member.

The kits were painted in Tamiya Italian red and Pure white. The wings were done in Bare Metal foil chrome which comes out looking like polished aluminum. The engines were detailed but I do not remove the bodies for fear of cracking the paint. The inspiration to do this series came from seeing the 312T5 race at the Long Beach GP in 1980.
